Transportation by rail, sea or road requires special UN-certified lithium-ion battery transport containers. This applies regardless of whether an undamaged or damaged battery is being transported.

The service life of a lithium-ion battery is finite. It has increased significantly and even multiplied in recent years. But after 2,000 charging cycles the time has probably come for most electric vehicles to dispose of the old battery and replace it with a new one. It is therefore obvious that the number of batteries to be transported will increase significantly in the coming years.
